To further lengthen battery life and promote more efficient performance, Atlantic has used Telversil and En-Nox in its battery-making process for many years.
Telversil is an alloy that intermixes the best qualities of silver and tellurium for greater tensile strength and higher resistance to corrosion. It is far superior to ordinary lead-antimony alloys in general use. Its beneficial effects have been conclusively proven through exhaustive research and extensive field testing. Battery grid life has been increased by up to 200% because of Telversil’s higher resistance to corrosion. En-Nox is a Dynel reinforced power-producing active material. Plates containing this material have proven their ability to withstand excessive charging rates to a much greater degree than plates made of ordinary oxides. Thus, the chance of premature battery failure due to overcharging is considerably reduced.
In fully charged batteries, En-Nox plates permit the use of a lower specific gravity of the electrolyte, another distinct advantage. Because of the resulting decrease in the shedding of active material and the reduction of the tendency of grid metal to disintegrate, the service potential of the battery is intensified by as much as 18% to 25%.
